Roxanne L. Ward, Esquire

OF COUNSEL

Roxanne Ward is known for her commitment and patience in helping those who have been injured when a trusted doctor causes injuries and damages as a result of their avoidable negligence. She is also known for her exceptional ability to listen and to understand the pain, anger and frustration that victims and their loved ones unfortunately experience during this very difficult and confusing time period.

Mrs. Ward prides herself on the individual attention and time that she devotes to answering questions, listening to concerns and solving problems in order to bring peace of mind.

Mrs. Ward has earned an advantage over most medical malpractice attorneys in Maryland because she has direct knowledge of what the lawyers defending physicians and hospitals will do when a medical malpractice claim is made from her experience for over a decade in the defense of medical malpractice claims. She worked in the Claims and Risk Management divisions of Maryland 's largest medical malpractice insurance carrier, which insures health care providers against medical negligence claims.

Throughout her career in handling medical malpractice and Nursing Home negligence cases, she has been able to successfully resolve cases, many of them without going to court, saving clients from the stress, anxiety and delay of litigation in court.

Her additional training of having defended the doctors and hospitals involved in claims of medical negligence, allows her to know beforehand, exactly which tactics and defenses the lawyers for the doctors, nurses and hospitals will raise. As a result, she is more than prepared to respond and to succeed.

Roxanne Ward has achieved one of the distinguished honors of a lawyer in being elected a Maryland Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine, which rates outstanding lawyers and selects the top 5% of lawyers in every state from over 70 practice areas who received the highest points. She has been recognized again as a Super Lawyer for the year 2012.

Further adding to her impressive credentials, over the years, Mrs. Ward has been frequently invited to lecture at seminars for other lawyers and medical care providers on her areas of legal expertise in child birth injuries and nursing home negligence.

She has lectured extensively on birth injuries resulting from abnormal or difficult childbirth or labor, such as Erb's Palsy, also known as Brachial Palsy, which is the paralysis of an infant's arm caused by injury to the nerves that begin at the spinal cord in the neck and control the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. She has also lectured on birth injuries that affect the brain and nervous system, such as Cerebral Palsy, which is caused by abnormal development or damage in the brain and affects the infant's ability to move and control movements. Mrs. Ward also handles and lectures about infants with Group B Strep, also known as GBS or Baby Strep, which is a type of bacteria which can be passed on to newborn babies during labor and birth and may cause stillbirth and severe bacterial infections in babies.

Mrs. Ward received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore. She continued her education at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor.

Mrs. Ward is licensed to practice law in all Maryland State and Federal Courts, as well as State Courts in Washington D.C. She is also an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Baltimore County Bar Association.
