What Types of Property Damages Can I Recover?

Once liability is established, the victim of an auto accident is entitled to damages (See “Car Accident Information Center” for the complete list of damages). The property damages that can be recovered include:

1) The cost to repair the vehicle, or to replace the vehicle if it is declared to be a total loss;

2) The cost of a rental car;

3) Towing costs, if the vehicle was towed because it was inoperable;

4) Storage fees incurred if the vehicle was towed and stored;

5) Personal items lost or destroyed due to the collision.
